| Sheikh Rasheed was elected as a member of National Assembly of Pakistan in 1985 and then re-elected six times. He has completed his M.A in Political Science from University of Punjab in 1995. He joined Muslim League in 2002 and become the Minister of Information and Broadcasting. During his tenure licenses was issued to almost 50 Tv Channels which is considered as a major contribution. His previous portfolio have included appointments as Federal Minister for Labor and Manpower, Information and Broadcasting, Industries ,Sports, Culture, and Tourism and Investment. He served as the Federal Minister of Railway in Pakistan from 2006 to 2008.He is the author of Farzand-e-Pakistan. He formed Awami Muslim League (AML) on 1st of June 2008 and elected as Chairman AML. |
