
JHANG: Azam Chaila of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz succeeded to clinch the seat of provincial assembly as he defeated his rivals in Wednesdays bye-polls at PP-82 (Jhang-X) with a big margin, ARY NEWS reported. Chaila, who vacated the same seat as he was found guilty by Supreme Court of Pakistan of contesting the 2008 general election on fake B.A. degree, won the Wednesdays bye-election with a big lead as he received 42145 votes in all the 127 polling stations, unofficial results revealed. Ghazanfar Ali of Pakistan Peoples Party stood second in the race with 30434 votes, the channel reports. Polling held peacefully in PP-82 where a total of 11 candidates including PPP and PML-Ns contenders, were fighting for the provincial assembly seat. Total 127 polling stations were set up for 153,800 voters of the constituency.
