ISLAMABAD: Director General Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant General Shuja Pasha, has been awarded a one-year extension in service, ARY NEWS reported here Tuesday.
Pasha, who was scheduled to retire from service on March 18, 2010, now will continue serving Pakistan Army as Lieutenant General and DG ISI for one more year as the authorities have approved an extension of one year in his service term, the channel said citing official sources.
Two separate notifications in this regard are likely to be issued shortly by the Prime Minister Secretariat and the GHQ, the channel added.
Lt. Gen. Pasha is heading Pakistan's premier intelligence service since October 2008. The extension in the service has been given under the rule of ‘compulsory retainment’, news reports suggested. |
