COAS satisfied with army efforts in terror war |

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has expressed satisfaction over the performance of Pakistan Army in the ongoing military offensive in restive tribal areas against Taliban and Al Qaeda-led militant elements.
The military top brass discussed internal security, the war against terrorism and the regional security situation as the COAS Tuesday chaired the 127th Corps CommandersÂ’ Conference at the General Headquarters.
The conference was as part of regular monthly meetings.
A comprehensive overview of various professional matters of the Army was presented during the conference. The participants showed their satisfaction over the state of operational preparedness of the Army.
COAS expressed satisfaction over the performance of Army in the ongoing operations. He also lauded the professional competence demonstrated by field formations during recently held field exercises.
He reiterated the need to achieve professional excellence to respond to future challenges, in a befitting manner.
Reportedly, the meeting also discussed top level transfers and appointments in the military. |
